Farley Music

All Saints Farley has long lent its nave and acoustic to visiting singers, village choirs, and the occasional instrumental recital. Farley Music is the parish notice-board for those events: who is playing, when the church is closed for rehearsal, and how the hall kitchen is left afterwards.

Players usually arrive with instrument cases, music stands, and flasks. Wardens ask that the vestry floor and the hall sink are left as they were found, because Sunday sidespeople inherit whatever Saturday night leaves behind. A printed rota for key-holders sits with the team administrator.

Concert takings, when there are any, are counted with two people present and paid into the parish account. Visiting groups from further afield sometimes stay in Salisbury or travel back toward London the same night. If those guests are handing back a short-let flat the next morning, that clean is not a church job.
